Clara Contrology was founded on the principles of adventure, the deepest of belly laughter, friendship, and love. Those principles, fused with the core philosophy of Pilates, guide the journey to helping you achieve optimal life balance. 

An internal spark, a connection, a discovery, a journey. For Clara Contrology founder, Jenna Ingraham, Pilates sparked a renewed alignment between mind and body that created profound change and a deep awareness of self that stretched into all aspects of her life. The inspiration Jenna realized from Pilates prompted her to transition from a corporate career in PR and Marketing and seek out an in-depth study in the discipline.

Jenna moved from South Florida to Seattle, WA to study under the world renowned master teacher Dorothee VandeWalle where she received her M.A.T. Pilates certification from Metropolitan Pilates.

Jenna’s focus through Clara Contrology is to share her experiences through Pilates as a centering element to create a more balanced life.

    I’ve practiced Pilates in my home for years by following videos and other self-directed methods. About Clara Pilates 

Clara Pilates was Joseph Pilates business and life partner. She had profound influence on the development of Contrology and taught right alongside him from their arrival in New York in the 1920s.  Clara adapted the exercises to make them more accessible to different body shapes and sizes, and her teaching style was patient, clear, and direct which differed from Joe’s more abrupt demeanor. Clara could translate into actionable cues what Joe wanted for each exercise, making them great partners. Clara has rarely received recognition for her contributions to the system, thus the company’s name, Clara Contrology, is an homage to her and her gifts to developing Contrology.
